Who needs an expensive therapist when you can chat to Piers Morgan for free?

There's one catch: you have to be really quite famous. Oh, and you have to not mind that your deepest, darkest, most headline-grabbing secrets will be seen by an audience of millions on ITV1.

Dannii Minogue is the latest star to pour her heart out on Piers Morgan's Life Stories. The good news is, this means her Botox has now worn off enough for her to show genuine emotion. The bad news is, well, we like Dannii and we don't want her to be all sad and weepy.

Talking about the break-up of her marriage to Nip/Tuck actor Julian McMahon back in the 90s, Dannii says she feels like she failed. "I don’t think there’s any one thing that it was," she says. "It was just a lot of things and we’re very, very different people, but I just feel like a failure with it and I hate that. I just thought, ‘How could I be so stupid in every respect? How could I have not seen this coming, with the marriage not working out?' Everyone else could see it, how could I let everything turn into this?"

Dannii also cried when talking to Piers about her sister Kylie's cancer battle. "All I wanted to do was get inside the door of the family home and see my gorgeous sister and hug her," she says. "And it was like trying to get through all of these barriers and it took a long while to understand all of that was there because everybody loves Kylie and they just wanted to know, ‘Is she ok?’ But as a family member…it made everything more difficult."

On a much, much cheerier note, Dannii also reveals just how blissfully happy she is with her boyfriend Kris Smith. And we love him too now after hearing what he says in a video message he's recorded for the show. "I have been called all the names under the sun by my friends, they’ve called me the luckiest man alive," says the big old softie with the big hard body. "She’s the one. I have never felt like this before." Aaargh! We want one!

Oh, and in the obligatory "here's the bit where we find out something embarrassing about Simon Cowell" slot (no TV show is complete without it), Dannii says he's now taken to watching X Factor rehearsals in the bath of his luxurious dressing room. "It’s beautifully done, it’s like James Bond’s room," she says. "It’s like leather panelling and there is a bath and, it’s like a hotel, there’s a bath and at the end there’s a TV screen and he said, ‘That’s where I’ll be watching the dress run from.’  And so before the first show I bought him a rubber duck."

We really don't need to think about Simon Cowell in the bath with a rubber duck, but thanks for that, Dannii.

Dannii appears on Piers Morgan's Life Stories on Saturday(Oct 31) at 10pm on ITV1.
