Matt Damon’s toilet humour

Matt Damon, who appears on the latest cover of US Esquire, has refused to talk to the magazine about his latest movie – instead, preferring to let them see him sing a song about going to the toilet. The 38-year-old is profiled in an eight-page spread that focuses on his charity work in India, but only one paragraph is devoted to his new film, The Informant. Damon said: “People don’t decide to see or not see the latest George Clooney movie just because they see or don’t see him on the cover of a magazine.” And the actor, who plays an overweight whistle-blower, even tells the Esquire reporter who travelled with him to India: “I almost brought it [the final cut], so you could see it but then I thought, ‘What the hell?’” During the trip, Damon entertained Indian schoolchildren by squatting down and singing to them: “This is the way we go to the toilet, go to the toilet, go the toilet, early in the morning…” Damon was in India with the charity Water.org, which runs various projects in the Third World to help tackle the global water crisis.
