What possible reason can Britney have for wearing this outfit?

We were under the impression that Britney had put her loopy days behind her but, now that we've seen this picture, we're not so sure. What are those socks? Really, what are they? And the trainers? The shorts? ALL OF IT?  Only yesterday we were remarking that when Britney gets to choose her only clothes, things get hairy - but we're really hoping that this ensemble is so bad, there's just got to be a bloody good reason for it. She is arriving at a studio in these pictures so we hope hope hope that she's filming something that involves her looking totally stupid.

PS. In other breaking Britney news, the mystery of the birdcage has now been solved in a fairly predictable fashion - she's bought a pet bird. A parakeet, to be precise. Oh god, she is actually going crackers again, isn't she?
